Eunuchs

Most people, if they think of it at all, still view castration as historic and exotic. However, it is estimated that there are more men who have been castrated in the modern world than at any previous point in history, primarily as a result of cancer treatment.

There is little discussion of what this means for affected men. This project puts them in conversation with historical images of eunuchs and asks them to use this as a framework to talk about their contemporary experience and how it affects their sense of themselves as men and its impact on their lives.
